News / WestJet ramps up Calgary-Tokyo route with new daily year-round service
The enhanced route strengthens travel options for Canadians heading to Asia

WestJet is making it easier for Canadians to access Asia with newly expanded nonstop service between Calgary and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport (NRT).
Service has been enhanced to daily year-round through the winter schedule, which begins on Oct. 27, 2025.
According to John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer, the increase of service can be attributed to the continued success of the route on both sides of the Pacific, after first having increased to daily service for its 2025 summer schedule.
The Calgary-Tokyo route originally runs from March 30 to Oct. 26, 2025. With the expansion, it will now run from Oct. 27, 2025 to March 29, 2026.
Expanded codeshare with Japan Airlines
Through WestJet’s longstanding codeshare partnership with Japan Airlines, guests connecting from Tokyo Narita will now have seamless access to two additional destinations in Japan: Osaka (Itami) and Nagoya. Guests will enjoy the convenience of a single purchased ticket, booked through WestJet, including baggage transfers and the ability to earn WestJet Dollars throughout their journey.
